Jackson Hole Wyoming Square: Patriot MemorialPosted by Bill Jennings ((Bay Area Northern Calif), United States) on 3 July 2009 in Art & Design and Portfolio. For those that have given the ultimate sacrifice for our country's freedom, from the county that Jackson Hole is part of. A fitting tribute to men and women that serve in our military: especially this week as our country celebrates it's independance. Just made it home after a month of travel - posted a few photos from my journey to within 48 miles of the antartica circle: at nearly the longest day of the year: hence, there was 21 hours a day of sunlight... Thank you for your patience while I was out of touch. I do hope you followed Bob Kelly's blog (my roommate) while he is still traveling - he is now on Easter Island - and will be updating his blog for some time to come - please check it out!

My dad served in WW II, and my Uncle in the USN - so I have great respect for our military. @Rajesh: thank you rajesh Sarito from Basingstoke, United KingdomSuperb shot Bill, love the light and the DOF!! 3 Jul 2009 7:51am @Sarito: thanks Sarito - that's what drew me to this photo from this angle... Lambspun from Madison, Maine, United StatesVery nice compostion....beautiful statue! Make sure you and your family have a nice holiday weekend. Take those cute children somewhere awesome so we can see them in more picture ;) 3 Jul 2009 9:24pm @Lambspun: pictures to come - work has been a real grind recently, it's the end of our fiscal year. Sweetpea broken her arm pretty seriously just as we were coming home from the beach / monterey aquarium : serious enough that if it were you or I, they would have had to put pins in, and a plate. I do have some good beach shots, but didn't bring the camera into the aquarium (three kids to watch during a crowded weekend : meant I was on full time daddy alert status - couldn't focus on the fishes...) @Sugata: thank you Sugata - I loved the lighting and the composition when I saw it at dusk. Magda from Vancouver, CanadaExcellent! The DOF is perfect! Superb light and detail! Well done. Love it 26 Jul 2009 5:31pm @Magda: Thank you Magda - the light was like this for only a few moments, long enough for me to frame the statue with the trees in the background, and capture it - glad you loved it. |
