Gordo rides Solo on Pumpkin

Gordo takes his first pony ride solo at Cooper Garrod Stables in Saratoga, California.
Yes, I know he's not wearing a yellow coat, as he was in Primary Colors - but we were at the farm, it was cold, and K-Mart had this sweater on sale... But the boots are yellow, aren't they?
Just made it home after a month of travel - posted a few photos from my journey to within 48 miles of the antartica circle: at nearly the longest day of the year: hence, there was 21 hours a day of sunlight...

@Dulcie: Thank you Dulcie - Pumpkin was the perfect first ride for Gordo. A great pony, and just right for a first ride for a two year old.

I wish I thought of the primary color thing.....I had 6 little darlins and they were always arguing over something that was theres. Super good idea. SweetPea, Toto, and Gordo are real bare backers....riding so effortlessly on that horse.....boy you're going to have to buy them one...lol.

@Lambspun: You would have needed primary and secondary colors with six !! Yep, someday I may have to scratch up some money for a horse. In the interim, we use those at Cooper Garrod.

@Sugata: yep, we love the sweater. gordo does too. He's very excited to do a Big Boy thing like riding solo on a pony.

@Magda: It's his first ride on a pony without any real help (we were walking very close by) - he knew it was a big deal... and smiled like he was growing up to be a big boy like his brother Toto.
