Gordo rides Solo on PumpkinPosted by Bill Jennings ((Bay Area Northern Calif), United States) on 2 July 2009 in People & Portrait and Portfolio. Gordo takes his first pony ride solo at Cooper Garrod Stables in Saratoga, California. Yes, I know he's not wearing a yellow coat, as he was in Primary Colors - but we were at the farm, it was cold, and K-Mart had this sweater on sale... But the boots are yellow, aren't they? Just made it home after a month of travel - posted a few photos from my journey to within 48 miles of the antartica circle: at nearly the longest day of the year: hence, there was 21 hours a day of sunlight... Thank you for your patience while I was out of touch. I do hope you followed Bob Kelly's blog (my roommate) while he is still traveling - he is now on Easter Island - and will be updating his blog for some time to come - please check it out!

Dulcie from Danville, United StatesGreat portrait of Gordo AND Pumpkin! They are both beauties. This photo has lovely clarity and beautiful color tones, Bill. 2 Jul 2009 6:21am @Dulcie: Thank you Dulcie - Pumpkin was the perfect first ride for Gordo. A great pony, and just right for a first ride for a two year old. Marie-Hélène Ammor from Casablanca/Paris, MoroccoYes they are ! But the first I see is Gordo ,so cute , proud and happy on the pumpkin !A great portrait ! 2 Jul 2009 8:48am @Marie-Hélène Ammor: Thanks Marie - he was in his glory to do "a big boy thing"... @Ana Lúcia: Thank you Ana. @Onlymehdi: Thanks Mehdi, I'm sure you noticed the style sheet has changed to Green... It's only appropriate, and thanks for encouraging this non-violent approach to rally support for truth and peace. Lambspun from Madison, Maine, United StatesI wish I thought of the primary color thing.....I had 6 little darlins and they were always arguing over something that was theres. Super good idea. SweetPea, Toto, and Gordo are real bare backers....riding so effortlessly on that horse.....boy you're going to have to buy them one...lol. 2 Jul 2009 10:56pm @Lambspun: You would have needed primary and secondary colors with six !! Yep, someday I may have to scratch up some money for a horse. In the interim, we use those at Cooper Garrod. @Steve Rice: Thanks Steve - he is indeed a brave son ! Sugata from Newark, United StatesSuch a cute shot! C'mon, that sweater is pretty colourful too! 3 Jul 2009 3:07am @Sugata: yep, we love the sweater. gordo does too. He's very excited to do a Big Boy thing like riding solo on a pony. Koushiro~光子郎 from Singapore, SingaporeMy, he's so brave, and cute! The horse looks cool too! a nice, white mane! Well captured! 3 Jul 2009 3:58am @Koushiro~光子郎: pumpkin the pony was so gentle, he knew to take care of a solo new rider like Gordo. THank you. @dj.tigersprout: thanks, we love him ! @Magda: It's his first ride on a pony without any real help (we were walking very close by) - he knew it was a big deal... and smiled like he was growing up to be a big boy like his brother Toto. |
