Silly Tuesday - Five String GuitarPosted by Bill Jennings ((Bay Area Northern Calif), United States) on 9 June 2009 in Miscellaneous and Portfolio. Toto for his Cinco de Mayo dress rehearsal. Just made it home after a month of travel - posted a few photos from my journey to within 48 miles of the antartica circle: at nearly the longest day of the year: hence, there was 21 hours a day of sunlight... Thank you for your patience while I was out of touch. I do hope you followed Bob Kelly's blog (my roommate) while he is still traveling - he is now on Easter Island - and will be updating his blog for some time to come - please check it out!

MARIANA from waterloo, CanadaBeautiful; Lovely ; Sweet !! Great shot ! Kid is adorable as always :)) 9 Jun 2009 5:13am @MARIANA: We all love our toto. He was wearing a shirt yesterday on the plane that said "Lock up your daughters"... I didn't get a chance to photograph that one. Thanks for the comment, I loved your mirror, mirror shot yesterday: it made me think immediately of the story of snow white (but the witch was the one in the mirror: so that doesn't fit): so then, it must have been for the diana ross song mirror, mirror. Veronique from Sarrouilles, FranceVery nice ! and so serious in his role ! Lovely Silly Tuesday 9 Jun 2009 6:02am @Veronique: Yes, he's very serious about his music - we love our Toto! He's a great kid. Mandy Provan from Johannesburg, South AfricaWhat an adorable picture of little Toto. I love the look on his face! 9 Jun 2009 6:47am @Mandy Provan: Thanks Mandy - he's an adorable son, we do love him : and he takes his music very seriously, that's how he broke the string (while playing a song). @Dulcie: Yes, he's so cute - I get to hug him almost every night... He's a great son. Karthik from Chennai, Indianice!! The colors are really vibrant and stand out; lovely expression! just a thought, perhaps the entire hat in the frame would have given the snap a better composition. 9 Jun 2009 8:48am @Karthik: I'll try next time to get more of the hat. Some tell me the ideal placement is to try to get the eyes in the upper third of the frame - it's really a matter of practice, experimentation, and learning - isn't it? MrsAmber from West Wickham, United KingdomHeheheh he doesn't seen too concerned that its upside down!!! Wonderful silly Tuesday!! 9 Jun 2009 8:57am @MrsAmber: He is such a good guitar player, he can play it almost any direction it points. He was so serious, but the broken string really sets this apart for me. Barbara from Florida, United StatesI really like how you stop the action at just the right second, Bill. The expression on Toto's face says it all.... listen to the tune and sing along! Of course the backwards guitar adds to the charm of this Silly Tuesday image. 9 Jun 2009 9:27am @Barbara: Thanks Barbara - he really loves music, and is enthusiastic in all he does. He's a natural class leader, and when he sings, folks come to him like a pied piper... Just about any shot of him while there is music involved would have a great expression. He's a great son. Uday from Fishers, United StatesNice shot Bill. Very nicely taken shot. Colorful and good DOF. I like the way you have timed to capture the expression. That's worth more than a million. Very good contrast to show the vibrant colors. Nice to see a 5 (+1) string guitar :-) 9 Jun 2009 11:00am @Uday: Thanks Uday - those are great comments - you can tell the story from the photo, and that's what I aspire to do more often in my photos. I do love the colors in his hat and poncho: we probably will use them again for halloween this year. Marie-Hélène Ammor from Casablanca/Paris, MoroccoVery proud ! What a great memory ! 9 Jun 2009 12:01pm @Marie-Hélène Ammor: Thank you Marie-Helene! Yes, he's standing proud - he's a great son. john4jack from Corvallis, Oregon, United StatesTerrific capture. Srujan Chennupati from Hyderabad, United StatesHe's very cute and handsome. Very good portrait. 9 Jun 2009 3:54pm @Srujan Chennupati: Thank you Srujan - he's very photogenic when he doesn't try to smile for the camera - his natural look is so great! @LauraS: Thank you Laura - he really enjoys being a mariachi.
