Silly Tuesday - Men in Heaven?

Posted by Bill Jennings ((Bay Area Northern Calif), United States) on 2 June 2009 in Miscellaneous and Portfolio.

Men up a closed road?

Men ahead: so drive carefully???

Men needing extra directions, as they won't step out and ask for them?

...

A silly tuesday post for this week from a drive in the country.

Please post a creative explanation - I can't explain the signs.

Just made it home after a month of travel - posted a few photos from my journey to within 48 miles of the antartica circle: at nearly the longest day of the year: hence, there was 21 hours a day of sunlight...

Thank you for your patience while I was out of touch.

I do hope you followed Bob Kelly's blog (my roommate) while he is still traveling - he is now on Easter Island - and will be updating his blog for some time to come - please check it out!

Mandy Provan from Johannesburg, South Africa

Men hanging from the post?? All the men you want ....this way?? hahaha. What a funny sign. well spotted Bill!!

2 Jun 2009 6:01am

@Mandy Provan: Yes, perhaps - all the men you can handle - just up the road! I still don't know what the intent of the sign was... Hope some brilliant women can explain it to me.

Karthik from Chennai, India

Road closed....men 10 miles ahead.....local traffic only drive carefully...the rest of can go bonkers!!!! lol Excellent silliness Bill!!!

2 Jun 2009 7:41am

@Linerberry: thanks from the master of silliness - I guess there is silliness everywhere when it comes to tuesday?

jamesy from christchurch, New Zealand

hehehe great find Bill i can't think of a logical explanation except someone knew you were looking for a silly tuesday shot

2 Jun 2009 8:46am

@jamesy: that, perhaps, is the most rational explanation - but I don't think they knew I was coming that weekend...

Lorraine from Gatineau, Canada

lol I'm thinking heaven for men, danger ahead since they never ask for directions and ignore signs LOL brilliant photo!

2 Jun 2009 10:11am

@Lorraine: Sounds like a much more plausible explanation, Lorraine. Wouldn't that be great for us?

Eleftheria from Athens, Greece

Hahahahaha! I like your title!

2 Jun 2009 1:03pm

@Eleftheria: thank you Eleftheria - glad you enjoyed my ST post.

Judy from Brooksville, Florida, United States

Gee ... where ARE they? Do we really have to go ten miles to find them? :D

2 Jun 2009 2:00pm

@Judy: Well, at least they are trapped in the box canyon: and can't escape the hoards of woman coming up the way to chase them down!

Marie-Hélène Ammor from Casablanca/Paris, Morocco

Men always want to go up to the sky ...!! Great ST !

2 Jun 2009 2:27pm

@Marie-Hélène Ammor: Yes, they think they have wings - or surely wish they did...

Ajay from Pune, India

Road Closed, Men.
10 Miles Ahead, Men.
Local Traffic, Men.
Drive Men Carefully.

he he.. :-)

2 Jun 2009 3:24pm

@Ajay: Glad you found it as mysterious and as funny as I did!

john4jack from Corvallis, Oregon, United States

2 Jun 2009 5:11pm

@john4jack: Thanks Jack - yeah ST!

Betty from New Jersey, United States

Sign must have been drawn by a man with a terrible sense of direction!!! :-) Perfect ST post!

2 Jun 2009 5:21pm

@Betty: That's a good explanation - but do you know a man with a great sense of direction?

Dawn Bayer from Whitehall, United States

Thanks for the giggle!

2 Jun 2009 11:16pm

@Dawn Bayer: :)... Thanks for dropping by.

Per from Central Florida, United States

Perhaps the sign was just happy to see you?

3 Jun 2009 12:23am

@Per: That could be. It's as good an explanation as any.

Lambspun from Madison, Maine, United States

What a panic!! I could see some people though, climbing the pole to see what was up on top ;)

3 Jun 2009 1:56am

@Lambspun: Did you notice that as well? Men were clamoring for instruction, and climbing poles to figure out what to do next :).

LauraS from Chico, United States

Hmmm? Men are to look up and see what they are missing?

3 Jun 2009 3:07am

@LauraS: Laura, by goodness, I think you've got it. Look up, into the eyes, for the real experiences in life?

Picture Box from Fishers, United States

For a moment I thought it was a sign for men's restroom :-). Then again, looking at the road closed sign, it's kind of telling them to "ask for directions" or "go to heaven".

4 Jun 2009 2:30am

@Picture Box: That's a very good guess, but there weren't any restrooms nearby. I actually believe it may have been directions for a men's club, or some type of bachelor party, etc... It was just off the main square of Corralitos during a spring day.

Magda from Vancouver, Canada

Hahahaha there are just too many possibilities!!! (grin) Fabulous shot for Silly Tuesday!

4 Jun 2009 5:08am

@Magda: Yes, too many choices - just what a man wants :)

mats from Texas, United States

hahahaha ghoes without saying, Men are always "lost". I think it's a sign for men's restroom.

7 Jun 2009 5:45am

@mats: Yep. That's men for you - I don't think it was for a restroom, but that would be a reasonable guess.
