Gordo floats his boat !!

Over memorial day weekend, we ran to the creekside: rather than the beach: here Gordo is using his newly christened boat which he named "Yellow Submarine" after one of his favorite Beatles songs.
(I fixed a spelling error, correctly so after a proper scathing!).
Just made it home after a month of travel - posted a few photos from my journey to within 48 miles of the antartica circle: at nearly the longest day of the year: hence, there was 21 hours a day of sunlight...
Thank you for your patience while I was out of touch.
I do hope you followed Bob Kelly's blog (my roommate) while he is still traveling - he is now on Easter Island - and will be updating his blog for some time to come - please check it out!

What a great a catch Bill....He's crisp, and clear, and shot is wonderfully composed....My only bone to pick here is that Dad has committed a grave sin.....the song "Yellow Submarine" was done by the "Beatles"!!! How could you forget???? beetles crawl on the ground...... :) !!!!

@Susan: you're right on the spelling, so sorry... thanks for looking at the picture - the light was hard, splotches of bright light : so catching this candid actually took some work.

Ah, a difficult one; but lovely photo in your hands with all the shadows and water and soft light on soft skin. Adorable. I would love to have all these gorgeous photo subjects living under my roof---no having to go out with a telephoto and "steal" shots...just kidding, but you DO have beautiful children!

Gordo looks like he might be biting his tongue so he can get his huge vessel over the dam between those two rocks.....check out that intense face of his! What a cutie!

@Lambspun: Yes, I think he is - I thought the same when I saw the photo (biting his tongue) - I think he was just so intense on watching his boat through the tough currents. thanks for the nice words about Gordo!
